Are there governmental or third-party rating standards (like JCAHO for hospitals) that apply to home health? Which of these standards are the best? Where are results of audits or surveys published?

CarePilot provides information from both the federal government, as well as JCAHO, or The Joint Commission, regarding the quality of home health care.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) collect home health quality measures that include information on patients' physical and mental health and whether their ability to perform the basic "activities of daily living" (ADL) improve while under the supervision of a home health care agency.

The accrediting information on CarePilot is provided by The Joint Commission, an independent, non-profit that evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States, including home health care agencies.
